Father’s Day is celebrated at different times in countries throughout the world. In Finland it is celebrated on the second Sunday of November, which is today. Last week English Class second graders put lots of time, thought and love into the cards that they made for their fathers. They drew portraits of their own father and then created a colourful quilt for him to snuggle under by weaving strips of brightly coloured paper. On the inside of the card they glued a list of five things they loved about their fathers. The cards were also decorated with wonderfully personal drawings on the inside. Dads who received these special cards must realize how cherished and loved they really are.
Even if it isn’t Father’s Day in your part of the world, we wish fathers everywhere a very happy day!
