English Class pupils at Cygnaeus School learn coding using various programmes and apps from first grade on. By learning coding the pupils learn how to check their work for details, how to apply logic and also how to persist at a task. These are valuable and timeless skills that will last long into their lives even outside of the use of technology.
The first graders in the photo above are working with a freely available iPad app called Kodable. The old adage, If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! is put into practice for real. Persistence is a valuable lesson to learn at such an early age! The crows of success by the children in the end make all their effort well worth it.
