English Class fourth graders continued their study of light in their environmental studies lessons this week by making shadow creatures, among other things. In the photo above you can see an example of a kangaroo that turned out pretty well.
On Tuesday the fourth graders did some hands-on exploration of different types of electrical circuits, Working in their familiar science groups they constructed different types of circuits and discovered what it takes to break a circuit and then reconnect it, as well as how to make their lights shine brighter. The pupils thought that there’s something really cool about being allowed to freely explore with wires and batteries. Their observations and conclusions were spot on.
The pupils also learned about safety and electricity this week, along with learning how electrical power finds its way into our homes.
