Pitkis-Adventure Day for Fifth Graders

Every year fifth graders at Cygnaeus School are able to participate in the annual Pitkis-Adventure Day which is organized in Ruosniemi. English Class fifth graders were able to face several physical and mental challenges in the course of the day including rock climbing, paddling canoes and some team challenges.

Crossing a ravine using two suspended lines was exciting!

Team challenges brought out the best in everyone. One of the challenges, while standing on boxes, was to reverse the order of the line of participants without stepping off or falling off the boxes. Another was to stay on top of the boxes even though the number of boxes decreased regularly. A third challenge was a competition to move forward without stepping off the boxes onto the ground.

Paddling canoes was a favourite activity with almost everyone.

Even the time waiting for turns was put to good use. It was an awesome adventure day!
