Nature Art Day: A Fall Foliage Frame

According to Wikipedia the definition of synergy is the creation of a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts. Synergy is what was generated when all of the English Classes and the English kindergarten, more than 100 children and their teachers, got together last Thursday on the park island of Kirjurinluoto to cover a steel rod frame in fall foliage. (We owe a big thanks to Esa Rouvali and the Pori Department of Parks for transporting the frame to its present location.)

Working in mixed age groups the children created bundles or bouquets of foliage, tied them together with natural raffia and secured them to a structure made of steel rods that had been loaned to us for the occasion by T.E.H.D.A.S. ry. The idea was to create a fall foliage frame that features the wonderful colourful abundance of Nature in the Autumn. Check out the video below to see what was accomplished. (Just click on the url.)
