Halloween Preparations

On Tuesday English Class first and second graders worked in pairs to count the Halloween silhouette figures in our Halloween mural. We discovered that it was difficult to make sure that every witch figure or every ghost got counted. However, by working together, counting and recounting, we all agreed that there were  a total of 31 jack o’lanterns. Enlarge the photo above by clicking on it to see how many other figures the English Classes made for their mural.

The first and second graders also carved jack o’lanterns for their respective classrooms. It was exciting for the children to do it themselves from start to finish. (We ended up with only one very superficial cut.)

The jack o’lanterns were lit with candles and the children were properly awed by their own carving skills! We are ready for Halloween!
