“Little Christmas” Festivities in First Grade

In Finland the Christmas season is heralded by small parties called “Little Christmas” /”pikkujoulu” parties. The first graders enjoyed their “Little Christmas” on Friday at the end of a hectic week In the morning the children decorated gingerbread cookies. They also played board games and worked on puzzles together.

After lunch the children got to eat their cookies and play more games. To everyone’s great surprise, including teacher Ms. Kati’s, Santa Claus paid a quick visit to the class, making it the best “Little Christmas” ever!
