Chromebook Training in Fifth and Sixth Grades

chromebooks

English Class fifth and sixth grade pupils and their teachers are very excited about learning to use our new Chromebooks. The Chromebooks were funded by a grant for the English Classes together with proceeds from the sale of tickets to our annual Christmas Carols programme. Although the Chromebooks have been in use for only a few days, all sorts of collaborative projects are under way. The fifth graders are hard at work creating collaborative slide presentations about countries in Europe and the sixth graders just started doing collaborative research on certain famous classical composers for slide presentations.

English Class teachers are very excited about the Chromebooks, too. They all enjoyed the first of several Google training sessions last week, and are eager to set up GAFE (Google Apps for Education) classrooms. Fifth grade teacher, Ms. Katri, even managed to integrate Chromebooks into a craft and design textile studies lesson where the pupils used the Chromebooks to design their next projects!

Thank you so much for these e-mails! My son and his family moved to Finland one year ago; what a joy it is to see our grandchildren! They do love the school.
