The first half of yesterday’s Fun Monday was spent exploring classic optical illusions. Pupils were amazed at the genius of artists when they incorporated seemingly impossible aspects into their art. Then the pupils learned that all colours combine to make white light, as evidenced by a prism refracting light. The children made spinners on a string to test the fact that colours, when spun fast enough, blend to make white.
It took some practice to get the spinners to work properly, but the practice paid off. We did not make our spinners with all of the colours of the spectrum which is why they did not turn white. Rather we decorated them as we wished. To see all the colours of the spectrum on a spinner turn to white, follow this link: https://goo.gl/YFln0Y.
