Both English Class second graders and third graders set very concrete goals for this school year. The goals were written out carefully by the pupils and then glued onto the chests of figures of themselves that they had carefully crafted. Now these goal figures are in each classroom for all to see and admire.
The goals of the second and third graders include better behaviour, learning mathematics more and better, taking good care of friends, being a friend, learning English more, as well as lots of other things. Goal setting is an important component of our pupils’ motivation, self-regulation, and achievement at school.
